Title: Project Estimator
Job Title: Project Estimator
Department: Operations/Project Management
Employment Status: Full time
FLSA Status: Exempt
Core Hours: 6:30am–4:00pm, Monday–Friday. Hours are subject to change based on customer demands.
Position Summary:
This role provides timely and accurate service to Quality Packaging's customers by working with other departments to process orders, communicate and follow up with customers and internal departments, maintain filing systems, perform data entry and perform accurate recordkeeping
Essential Functions:
  • Responsible for customer request for quotes (RFQ) completion, accuracy, competitiveness, and timeliness. Includes internal and external cost.
  • Review historical quotes for similar/exact parts and/ or their variations, while reviewing profitability for accurate quoting.
  • Incorporates product knowledge, materials application and manufacturing methods into the preparation of quoting.
  • Responsible for reviewing quotes with management and releasing the quote to the business development team to meet their on-time processing requirements.
  • Will follow up with the business development team to review win/loss quoting metrics and will further review and evaluate quoting processes for possible improvement.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Great attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability of data presentation through both delivery methods.
  • Ability to multi-task, keep organized and be able to report on the status of any quote at any given time.
  • Must be able to prioritize work daily.
  • Must be self-directed and able to deliver under pressure, meeting customers and management deadlines.
  • Must be a self-starter and highly motivated within a team environment and independently.
  • Proficient computer literacy with Microsoft Office and expertise in Excel
  • Prior experience SAP/ERP systems is preferred.
  • Ability to read CAD drawings/blueprints.
  • Must have a high regard for accountability and lead by example.
  • Must have prior office experience in with the ability to act as a receptionist with customers when needed.
  • Prior experience in printing/packaging industry is a must.
  • 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing processes and programs management

Education:
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Physical Demands:
This position is required to stand and walk up to 1/3 of the time. This position is required to sit, use hands more than 2/3 of the time. This position does require the individual to lift up to 10 lbs occasionally. Close and color vision, as well as the ability to adjust focus are required to perform this position.
